Fino ad oggi abbiamo fatto affidamento sulle materie prime naturali da reperire ovunque e da trasformare in prodotti. Disegniamo e produciamo le nostre idee e i nostri oggetti per esportarli nel mondo, ma abbiamo capito che non basterebbero due pianeti se continuassimo in questo modo. Necessitiamo di un approccio migliore e orientato più alla circolarità che non alla linearità del Take-Make-Discard. Siamo già molto avanti nell’approccio, molti materiali vengono prodotti grazie all’utilizzo di materie prime che sono rifiuti. Uno degli aspetti positivi è che, diversamente da quanto troviamo in natura, i materiali di recupero sono più economici e abbondanti.
Con una prospettiva di crescita verso i 9 miliardi di cittadini il consumo di materie prime, acqua, cibo ed energia è il tema del presente.

Giuseppe Leida Associati vuole porre l’attenzione ai temi della sostenibilità attraverso una collaborazione con Chroma Composites che prevede la realizzazione della collezione di tavoli per il living e l’outdoor ‘Traccia’.
La collezione rimette al centro della nostra vita l’equilibrio con la natura e il rispetto dell’ambiente. I tavoli dalla forma essenziale ed archetipica, mostrano la preziosa materia di cui sono composti: scarti di lavorazione di marmo, sughero, cotto, quarzo legati da una matrice di resina che costituiscono lo speciale ‘Terrazzo Chroma’.
Until now, we have been relying on natural raw materials, to be found everywhere and then turned into products.
We design and produce both our ideas and objects in order to export them worldwide, but we have realized that two planets would not be enough, if we continue in this way.
We need a better and more circularity-focused approach, rather than one based on linearity and on Take-Make-Discard.
We are way ahead in such an approach, as many of the materials we use are produced by using raw materials which originate from waste. One of the pros of such a situation is that, unlike natural resources, recycled materials are both cheaper and more abundant.
As we are looking at a population climbing up to 9 billion inhabitants, the consumption of raw materials, food and energy is the main issue facing us presently. The upcoming attitude towards the environment may very well lend a hand in making our work more sustainable and tell a different tale.
OUR ‘TRACCIA’ COLLECTION
Giuseppe Leida Associati intends to focus on sustainability-related themes through its collaboration with Chroma Composites, which involves the creation of living and outdoor ‘Traccia’ (Track) table collection.
Our collection turns the balance with nature and the respect for the environment into a cornerstone of our life, again.
Our tables, essential and archetype in their shapes, show the precious matter they are made of:scraps of marble, cork, earthenware tiles and quartz are surrounded by a resin matrix to form the unique ‘Terrazzo Chroma’ material.
